Hobbies and Interests Unit
This unit is designed to incorporate the features of LMS into an efficient method of instruction.
Unit Description
This unit is about having students describe their likes and dislikes when it comes to their hobbies and other interests.
The unit is designed for level 2 Arabic, who have some knowledge of how to create sound sentences. They will first create and go over some main vocabulary for the unit. They will then practice using the vocabulary in sentences, and students will use comparative structures to explain preferences in a chatroom. Students will then test their basic vocabulary knowledge in a short quiz.
Objectives
1. Students will be able to describe their hobbies and interests in complete sentences.
2. Students will be able to apply comparative and superlative grammar concepts appropriately when speaking or writing about their hobbies.
3. Students will use authentic text to read about different hobbies and interests.

Drawing Henna as a hobby is unit to Arab culture. They will be exposed to this by learning the vocab listed.

Students will have the chance to compare their own interests with one another, but at the same time realize the many interests are also true to the Arabic-speaking world.

This LMS tool allows students to explore language on their own, using resources available to them, but also at different times outside of the regular school day.
