Technology Module: Assessing Cultural Comptence
This activity is intended for all my Arabic classes and levels as a general assessment tool to assess cultural competence after the completion of class units. After being introduced to a particular thematic unit, students are expected to complete the following assessment to help them reflect on the cultural elements learned in each unit. They will be expected to describe and explain what they learned and give examples of what and how they learned it.
Activity: Students will take the assessment following on a parent role in finding a potential bride or groom for their assigned son/daughter!!

Objectives:
1. Students will be able to identify important aspects of Arab culture by categorizing topics of importance to match making.
2. Students will be able to identify and reflect on cultural products, practices, and perspectives dealing with match making in the Arabic speaking world.
3. Students will be able to compare and reflect on comparisons of Arabic Speaking cultures to own cultural practices regarding match making and courtship.
